We do have the newest firmware on our fleet of M401dn's so bear that in mind if it doesn't work right away on your machine, that could be the issue and I'm unable to test for it. It's actually quite firm when installed so I wouldn't be the least bit worried about it assuming the printer is more or less stationary. The only caveat is the bracket that the card attaches to in the m401dw is absent in the m401dn so you have to rely on the pressure fit of the connector.

I realzie this is likely far too late, but because I found this post after determining that you can upgrade the m401dn to wireless, I figured I'd reply for anyone who stumbles on it later. They WILL NOT fix this, they WILL blame everyone and everything else, and totally act like this is not them, and they even claim lots of people have it working, its a lie. HP will shirk their duty, and blame this on microsoft, it is NOT microsoft trust me, EVERY other printer here works exactly as expected, NO hp works as it should, even remotley. Now Office 2016 yes actualy went and bought it this week thinking that may help.

Here is the list of Operating systems i tried it on. PDF, Notepad, all work fine, can email a word doc or excel sheet to eprint it works, Office DOES NOT. I have many types of printers here, NONE of the HP printers work with office anything. This is a very wide spread HP only problem.
